Dr. Laurence T. Glickman of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group has been named the 2018 Morry Award recipient by Project Morry.

It is the highest honor awarded by Project Morry, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people from under-resourced communities through academic enrichment, educational support and mentoring programs, and will be awarded on Nov. 7 at the organization’s annual benefit.

Glickman has served as a board member of Project Morry for 20 years, including as president from 2007-2009, and currently serves on the honorary board of Project Morry. As a lover of Camp Echo Lake in Warrensburg, N.Y. and a believer that every child should have the opportunity to experience the gift of summer camp, Glickman was a founding board member of Morry’s Camp.

What began as a summer residential program for under-resourced children has grown into the comprehensive year-round youth development organization that is known today as Project Morry, with Morry’s Camp still at the heart of the program.

“I am honored to be receiving this award from Project Morry,” said Glickman. “This organization does incredible work helping under-resourced kids and adolescents grow in every possible way, and I hope to continue to be a part of the impact that they’re making for many years to come.”

Outside of his work with Project Morry, Glickman has led a distinguished career in plastic surgery on Long Island, where he resides with his wife Judy and their two sons. A native of Port Washington, Glickman joined the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, the largest and longest-running private plastic surgery practice in the U.S., in 1991 and served as President of the organization from 2000 to 2004.

Glickman is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons in Canada, and has been named one of America’s Top Surgeons by the Consumers Research Council of America.
