PSEG Long Island employees cook up a great day at Ronald McDonald House

PSEG Long Island employees donated more than one thousand dollars, donned aprons, sliced and diced as they joined forces to prepare a meal for the residents of Ronald McDonald House of Long Island (RMH-LI).

Thanks to a company-wide effort to restock the non-profit’s kitchens, they had a host of new kitchen accessories to accomplish the task.

The effort was spearheaded by PSEG Long Island’s Stephanie Panvini of Dix Hills. Panvini learned about the Ronald McDonald House through a community service project that her daughter and a schoolmate organized, and fell in love with the organization and their mission.

“I am proud that PSEG Long Island has been helping families of sick children at the Ronald McDonald House, since 2014,” said Panvini, senior administrative assistant, customer services, PSEG Long Island. “The last time I was at the facility to cook for the families staying at the home, I noticed the kitchen utensils needed a refresh. As a result, my idea of a utensil/kitchen supply drive was created. I am overwhelmed at how incredibly generous my fellow employees are with their time and financial support to help these families in their time of need.”

“Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is grateful beyond words to our friends at PSEG Long Island who continue to support our mission by continuously participating throughout the year in our ‘Meals from the Heart’ brunch/dinner program,” said Betti McClellan, director of Volunteers & Programs, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

“We thank PSEG Long Island for supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island by participating in our Wish List Collection,” said Lisa O’Neil, family services coordinator for Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Inc. “Helping us stock our kitchens with everyday essentials for our residents makes a difference in the lives of over 1,000 families a year that stay at RMH-LI. PSEG Long Island’s generosity helps us fulfill our mission of keeping families close in the midst of a medical crisis.”
