The Port Washington Youth Activities girls’ basketball program recently participated in two events with the Schreiber Lady Vikings varsity basketball team.

The varsity team ran a clinic for PYA girls in 3rd through 7th grades, allowing the girls the opportunity to work on ball handling, passing, shooting, lay-ups, rebounding and defense.

After learning from the varsity team, the girls got to see them in action when the Lady Vikings hosted the 26th Annual PYA Night.  PYA girls and their families showed up to support and cheer on the Lady Vikings at their game against Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School.

PYA thanks Coach Denis Trottier and his team for dedicating their time and hosting these two events.  Many of the current Lady Vikings grew up playing in the PYA program, and hopefully, many of the current PYA girls will one day become Lady Vikings.
