Marcia Namowitz, a member of the Human Rights Campaign’s Great NY Steering Committee and Co-Chair of Federal Club membership on Long Island will discuss how protecting the civil rights of one minority group impacts everyone and defines the kind of country citizens want.

The event, titled “LGBTQ Rights: Battles Won, Fights Lost, Struggles to Come,” will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, which is located at 48 Shelter Rock Road, Manhasset. Admission is free and refreshments are provided.

With three million supporters, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, The Human Rights Campaign, envisions a world where LGBTQ people are ensured of their basic freedoms at home, at work and in the community.

Later in March, there will also be an event featuring the dean of Hofstra University’s National Center for Suburban Studies, and a separate fundraiser. Then, in April, Reach Out America will host an event with former Newsday Editorial Board member Bob Keeler on the role of generals, as well as a multi-ethnic community potluck lunch.

Come June, Reach Out America will host a paid-up membership luncheon.
