For the second year, the Manorhaven Red Devils swim team has selected CancerCare Port Washington as the recipient for it’s “Swim-a-Thon” fundraising event.

Not only did the team donate the $1,250 it raised to CancerCare but the team had such a great season that it came in first in Division 2.

The Red Devils swim team consists of girls and boys ranging in age from 5 to 16. Part of the reason that the team is so successful each summer is because the program is run by former team members who come back to coach the swimmers.

The team chooses CancerCare as its recipient organization because it is a great cause, teammates said, but also since many coaches and swimmers have been involved with CancerCare’s Red Stocking Revue and other fundraising efforts.

Contact Manorhaven Pool for information about the Red Devils and visit CancerCare of Port Washington on Facebook to learn more about this important organization.
