Mineola Union Free School District is significantly expanding the opportunity for parents to send their 4-year-olds to a full-day pre-kindergarten program for the 2019-2020 school year. To be eligible for the 2019-20 program, students must be 4 years of age by Dec. 31, 2019 and be a resident of the Mineola Union Free School District.
For the 2019-2020 school year, Mineola will offer full-day Pre-K at three locations.
- Willis Avenue will host the UPK program which will house 54 students
- Hampton Street will dedicate four classrooms for Pre-K
- Meadow Drive will dedicate four classrooms for Pre-K
The district will also offer parents the choice to enroll their child in a half-day program at either Hampton Street or Meadow Drive. The location and number of half-day sections will be determined in July 2019 through the analysis of enrollment requests made by parents at registration. Bussing will not be offered by the district.
Registration for pre-K will take place at the Central Registration Office, at 121 Jackson Ave., 2nd floor, from Feb. 5, 2019 through May 3, 2019. Please email the District Registrar, Michelle Rescigno, at mrescigno@mineola.k12.ny.us or call her at 516-237-2031 to schedule an appointment. Once your appointment has been scheduled, parents can pick up a registration packet at Central Office or she can mail them to parents. Parents are asked to please have all the forms in the registration packet completely filled out, all necessary forms notarized and all the documentation required with them when they meet with Ms. Rescigno. This will ensure a complete and smooth registration process.
