Roslyn Science Olympiad team qualifies for state competition

Roslyn High School’s Science Olympiad team won fifth place at the regional competition held at Kellenberg Memorial High School on Feb. 3.

Medals for individual events were awarded to the top eight teams, and Roslyn students earned medals in 17 of 24 events.

Winners include Ankit Agrawal, Leah Arbitman, Will Borges, Ryan Chen, Ellie Eisenberg, Joshua Flashner, Daniel Flyer, Jessica Fox, Johanna Kann, Katie Lam, Kevin Lam, Melanie Landesberg, Justin Leu, Emily Leventhal, Kazuki Neo, Alida Pahlevan, Zach Perlman, Maleeha Rahman, Mayeesa Rahman, Adam Robbins, Daniel Robbins, Madeline Rubin, Jack Waldman, and Jeffrey Yu.

Due to this success, the team will be heading to the statewide competition at Le Moyne College in Syracuse this March, competing with top teams from across the state.

Club advisors Vincent Kreyling, William Marvin, and Irena Tsarevsky along with the team captains are immensely proud of the team’s continued hard work and are excited to be returning to the state competition for the seventh consecutive year, the ninth time in the past 10 years.
