Roslyn students, along with tens of millions of children around the world, took part in the annual Hour of Code this month.

This very popular international teaching event was started a few years ago to show that anyone can learn the basics of computer coding.

In the district, in addition to courses such as AP computer science and the Project Lead the Way engineering program, the widespread use of technology across the curriculum, and at all levels, helps to build a strong foundation of computer literacy.

Outside the classroom, there are a range of additional activities designed to support STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) subjects, including the Lego-Robotics Club at Roslyn Middle School, and Roslyn High School’s Code Club, which organizes workshops for younger children in partnership with the Bryant Library.
