Barbara McQuade & Chuck Rosenberg will offer dialogue moderated by Errol Louis

On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 3:00 PM, Stephen C. Widom Cultural Arts at Emanuel will present a Video Conversation with former U.S. Attorney and law professor Barbara McQuade and former U.S. attorney, senior FBI official and chief of the Drug Enforcement Administration Chuck Rosenberg. Their dialogue will be moderated by NY1 news anchor, host of Inside City Hall, and CNN political analyst, Errol Louis.

Barbara L. McQuade is a law professor at the University of Michigan, where she teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, and national security law. She is also a legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC.

From 2010 to 2017, McQuade served as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. She was appointed by President Barack Obama and was the first woman to serve in her position. McQuade also served as vice-chair of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee and co-chaired its Terrorism and National Security Subcommittee.

McQuade also joined with other law enforcement leaders to launch Detroit One, a violence reduction strategy and community partnership. Since Detroit One began in 2012, homicide rates in Detroit declined.

Before becoming U.S. Attorney, McQuade was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Detroit for 12 years, serving as Deputy Chief of the National Security Unit. In that role, she prosecuted cases involving terrorism financing, foreign agents, threats, and export violations.

Chuck Rosenberg worked at the highest levels of the Justice Department and on its biggest terrorism, espionage, and public corruption cases. He ran the DEA, served on the staff of FBI Directors Mueller and Comey, and as the United States Attorney in two crucial judicial districts.

Chuck appears regularly on MSNBC as a legal analyst. A career, non-partisan professional, he also served as Counselor to Attorney General John Ashcroft, where he handled national security matters. President Bush nominated – and the Senate unanimously confirmed – Chuck to serve as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Chuck also served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas – a district that includes a large swath of the U.S. – Mexico border.

Chuck routinely shares his experience and insights on national television, as an MSNBC legal analyst, and on his podcast: The Oath with Chuck Rosenberg.
