Senator Elaine Phillips today announced a $100,000 State and Municipal Grant for the Herricks Union Free School District. The funding will help the school district offset capital improvement costs to provide further educational opportunities for students.

“A comprehensive education, integrated with the use of computer technology into students’ core class work, is key to future success as the world transitions into a more digital age,” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “This funding will help the Herricks Union Free School District offset capital improvement costs to continue providing students with the resources they need to succeed in school.”

“We are most appreciative of the efforts by Senator Phillips in securing this generous grant for the Herricks Public Schools,” Superintendent of Schools Fino Celano said. “The grant will greatly facilitate the ability of our faculty and students to integrate the use of computer technology into their instructional practice. Having a robust wireless network is an essential component of 21st century learning. We thank Senator Phillips for her help in making this happen.”
