Sewanhaka District fall student-athletes honored by board of ed

Sewanhaka Central High School District’s Board of Education honored the fall athletes and athletic teams from Elmont Memorial, Floral Park Memorial, H. Frank Carey, New Hyde Park Memorial and Sewanhaka high schools during its board meeting at Sewanhaka High School on Jan. 23.

The board and Superintendent Ralph Ferrie joined Athletic Director Matt McLees in recognizing the district’s All-State and All-County athletes, championship and Scholar-Athlete teams. They also acknowledged those designated as Fall Coaches of the Year, including New Hyde Park Memorial field hockey coach Kori Brocking, boys volleyball coach Elizabeth Leydon and girls volleyball coach Jacqueline Rizzuti.

All of the honorees were presented a certificate of recognition by members of the board, Ferrie and their respective building principals and coaches.
