The Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center recently welcomed a new director of Jewish Engagement and Innovation at its Ruth And Saul Weinberger Center For Jewish Life + Learning, Robin Gossett. Gossett is a formidable Jewish educator who spent the majority of her career as a teacher at Solomon Schechter School of Queens and then as the founding Director of Eisner Day Camp, which she ran from 1991 through 2015.  From 2010 to 2019, Gossett worked as a Jewish educator within the Reform Temple of Forest Hills and then at Temple Beth El of Great Neck. At the JCC, Robin will spearhead all Jewish Life + Learning efforts including weekly events like Taste of Torah, along with celebrations such as Purim.

Sid Jacobson also welcomed a new assistant director of Camp Jacobson, Adam Grundfast. Grundfast’s has had a lifelong involvement in camp. Most recently, he worked for two years at Camp Pontiac in Copake overseeing a group of middle school-aged boys, supervising campers across campus-wide activities, and in the training and development of camp counselors. Before that, Grundfast worked across sales and marketing, in the training and development of camp counselors, and as a camp supervisor for five years at Pierce Day Camp in Roslyn. At Camp Jacobson, Grundfast will assist Paul Isserles, Camp Jacobson Director, in the creation and implementation of strategic planning along with the overall program development and supervision of daily operations.
