Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso brought his annual Skin-telligence Program to the Parkwood Pool, in Great Neck.

The program’s purpose is to spread awareness about skin cancer, and to promote steps to avoid it. Skin-telligence is partnered with the Colette Coyne Melanoma Awareness Campaign.

The event included free skin-damage screenings and information about staying safe in the sun.

Governor Cuomo signed a bill, co-sponsored by Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso, which bans children under the age of 18 from using indoor tanning facilities. Tanning facilities can put users at higher risk for skin cancer, and it is even worse for kids at younger ages.
