In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Sneakerology Manhasset, located at Americana Manhasset, hosted a shopping event to support Spectrum Designs and Nicholas Center. Sneakerology generously donated 15 percent of all pre-tax sales to Spectrum Designs and Nicholas Center, two local charities started by a Manhasset mother for her son with autism.

Spectrum Designs and Nicholas Center are located in Port Washington and support employment and vocational training opportunities for individuals with Autism. The Nicholas Center offers programs and experiences in the community of Port Washington and supports employees at Spectrum Designs, a custom apparel business with a social mission – to help individuals with autism lead productive and meaningful lives.

Stella Spanakos, one of Spectrum Designs’ co-founders, said: “We are very grateful to everyone at Sneakerology for hosting this event. Collaborating with local merchants to bring awareness of social issues while supporting local charities and businesses is great for all.”
