Take a virtual tour this fall with Roslyn Adult Continuing Education

The Island Now

Residents of the Roslyn, Herricks, and East Williston school districts are invited to participate in virtual tours of New York City or explore various art exhibitions in the Zoom Art Museum series this fall with Roslyn Adult Education. These virtual trips allow you to take various tours and learn interesting facts from the comfort of your home.

The Presentations of New York City, guided by Art Zuckerman, consists of three virtual sessions, each with three different topics that are designed to give information, anecdotes and tidbits that would normally be presented on a tour. The first session includes the topics “I Didn’t Know That;” “Women of New York;” and “Rich and Famous.” The second session’s topics are “Brooklyn;” “Hamilton;” and “Central Park.” The third session includes “Medical New York;” “Murder, Mayhem and Scandals in New York;” and “Foods of New York.” Participants can sign up for one, two or all three sessions with a discount if you sign up for all three. Details are in the Adult Education catalog.

Art historian Lauren Kaplan will be leading the Zoom Art Museum Tour series which includes lectures based on ongoing exhibitions in or around New York, or themes relevant to the present moment. These interactive classes include time for conversation and questions before and after the featured content. There are two sessions, the first consists of five classes and the second consists of three classes. You can sign up for one session or both for a discounted fee.
