Temple Judea is proud to announce that local author Mark Rosenman will be speaking about his books on Wednesday evening, January 30th, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Signed copies of the books will be available for purchase.

Rosenman, with co-author Howie Karpin, has written four books, the most recent being Before 94: The Story of the 1978-79 New York Rangers. Their other books include Shoot to Thrill, Down on the Korner and Rangers by the Numbers.

Rosenman has been covering sports in New York for almost forty years. He is currently the host and producer of SportsTalkNY on WLIE 540AM, which can be heard every Sunday night at 7 PM. He is credentialed with the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball and covers the New York Rangers and New York Mets.

In 2018, Rosenman and Karpin released New York Rangers by the Numbers – A Complete Team History of the Broadway Blueshirts by Uniform Number. This book tells the stories of Rangers from Clarence Abel to Mats Zuccarello. These biographies offer a new way to help trace the history of one of hockey’s oldest and most beloved teams.

Down on the Korner: Ralph Kiner and Kiner’s Korner takes the reader behind the scenes of the beloved “postgame show,” Kiner’s Korner. For over thirty years, Hall of Famer and iconic broadcaster Ralph Kiner hosted this show, bringing players into the homes of fans across the nation. The book offers any baseball fan a wonderful trip down sports’ memory lane.

Shoot to Thrill highlights one of the most significant and controversial rule changes in all of sports – the shootout. The book blends history, stats, and personal perspectives from players, coaches, officials, and broadcasters in describing how shootouts have helped shape hockey history.

There is no fee for this event. All are welcome.
