For the last three years, the Lakeville Estates Civic Association has had “Meet & Greet” meetings where local political candidates up for re-election are given the opportunity to meet the voters in their community. All are invited to the meeting on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Manhasset Lakeville Firehouse Co.#5 located at 78th & Stewart Avenue starting at 7 p.m.
The positions being presented are for the County Legislator for the 9th Legislative District and the Council Member for the 2nd District for the Town of North Hempstead. The agenda is as follows:
7:10-7:40 p.m. Legislative District #9: Richard Nicolello (R-New Hyde Park)
7:45-8:15 p.m. Legislative District #9: Mal Nathan (D)
8:10-8:40 p.m. Council Member 2nd District Town of North Hempstead: Peter Zukerman
8:45-9:15 p.m. Council Member 2nd District Town of North Hempstead: Ragini Srivastava
The meeting is open to the general public and the format for the candidates is that each guest speaker will have 30 minutes. The first 5 minutes are for opening remarks and then followed by 20 minutes of question and answer for the candidate, to be concluded by closing remarks during the last 5 minutes.
