For the past several years, St. Stephen’s Church Sunday School families have collected toiletries in the springtime to donate to American troops. This year, the Church’s Children & Youth Minister Rhonda Fay wanted to open the event up to the entire community to help gather even more items.

Although the military issues toiletries to service members, they often miss their favorite brands. Some of the requested items include (no hotel or sample sizes, please): shampoo, conditioner, soap, cleansers, sunscreen, vitamins, razors, cotton swabs, lip balm, dental care, manicure items, first aid, over-the-counter pain relievers, powders, tissues, and wipes.

All donations are given to Ronkonkoma based Boots on the Ground, which distributes the toiletries and other needed items directly to service people. Please bring donations on or before June 29 to one of the following collection locations: St. Stephen’s Church entrances (9 Carlton Ave.) or Manorhaven Village Hall (33 Manorhaven Boulevard).
