The Town of North Hempstead was proud to join with the Book Fairies to celebrate the organization giving away its 3,000,000 book.

To commemorate the momentous occasion, the organization held a special event at the “Yes We Can” Community Center and gave away books to attendees. The Long Island Nets and their mascot Dale also attended the festivities.

The Book Fairies is a Long Island-based non-profit organization that was created by Amy Zaslansky to help foster children’s love of reading. The group works with libraries, schools, and organizations throughout the metropolitan area to help distribute new and gently used books.
