Town honors Old Westbury boy for winning 2 silver medals in fencing

Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Member Viviana Russell and the Town Board recently honored Cantiague Elementary School student and Old Westbury resident Jayden Hooshi for winning two silver medals in the 2017 Pan American Youth and Veteran competition, which was hosted in in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Nine-year-old Hooshi was selected by the United States Fencing Association to represent Team USA. He was one of 300 participants from 34 different counties in the competition and won two silver medals in his division. The Town Board presented Hooshi with a Certificate of Recognition for his extraordinary accomplishment.
