The Port Washington Water District (PWWD) recently completed preparing its Drinking Water Quality Report, and it is now available for the public to view. The report once again shows the quality of the water delivered to the district’s 30,000 residents in Port Washington, portions of Manhasset, and the villages of Port Washington North, Manorhaven, Baxter Estates, Flower Hill and Plandome Manor.
“The quality of our community’s water is of the utmost importance to me, my fellow commissioners and every employee of the Port Washington Water District,” said David Brackett, chairman of the Port Washington Water District’s Board of Commissioners. “We take our oath very seriously, and it’s reflected in the pride we have in the water delivered to our residents and the level of transparency we maintain.”
The annual Drinking Water Quality Report is prepared by the district annually and mailed to every customer of the PWWD to ensure they remain informed about the quality of their drinking water. The report also provides a closer glimpse of the services and level of testing the water district provides to the community. Every year more than 13,300 tests are performed throughout the water supply and distribution system to ensure the integrity of our vital drinking water supply.
“Residents can rest assured that the water being delivered to their homes is completely safe to drink — it meets or exceeds all of the drinking water standards established by federal, state and local governments,” said the District’s superintendent Paul Granger. “Quality assurance is paramount and it’s why the District and its Board of Commissioners have placed such a high priority on making infrastructure improvements throughout the service territory.”

If a customer has not received a copy the annual water quality report, they can request another copy from the District or view it on the District’s website at www.pwwd.org.
