Starting this week, the Long Island Railroad will be performing maintenance on the Webster Avenue Bridge in Manhasset to ensure its continued safety.

“Residents should be aware that the Long Island Railroad anticipates doing the majority of the work between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and that the repairs are expected to be completed in six weeks,” said Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso.

The repair work is weather dependent and some weekend work may need to be performed.

This vehicular traffic bridge was originally constructed in 1897 and spans the LIRR’s Port Washington Branch tracks.
