Wheatley student athlete commits to University of Albany

The Wheatley School’s Will Feil has signed a letter of commitment to continue his academic and baseball career at the University at Albany.

As a member of Wheatley’s varsity soccer, basketball and baseball teams, Feil, a three-sport athlete, has established himself as a student-athlete of high recognition. He played on Wheatley’s Nassau County Class B Championship soccer team, as captain of the varsity basketball team and earned All-Conference recognition for his outstanding play during the 2017-2018 season.

Feil is a returning captain, and a returning All-County 2017 and All-Conference 2016 member of the Wildcats’ varsity baseball team. His accomplishments on the baseball field have earned him recognition as one of Newsday’s Top 100 Players. He was a key contributor to the baseball team’s 2016 Nassau County Class B and Long Island Class B Championships as well as the 2017 Nassau County Class B Championship.

Feil’s transcript also includes eight advanced placement courses. Fiel has earned the “AP Scholar with Honors” distinction. He also has community service and volunteer experience as a member of the National Honor Society and Foreign Language Honor Society.

Fiel is also a member of the St. Aidan’s Peanut Butter Gang, a local church group which meets to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the hungry and homeless on Long Island.
