Town Council Member Peter Zuckerman recently welcomed local author Paula Groothuis to Town Hall on February 4. Council Member Zuckerman was proud to recognize Groothuis for publishing her latest work, ‘Kids Roll As They Bowl.”
Groothuis has been a resident of North Hempstead for over 40 years. As a speech therapist, she was inspired to write children’s books in rhyme to teach them vocabulary growth, self-esteem and how to grow up in a responsible, respectful way. She is a well-established published author of many children’s books.
In 2018, Groothuis was named to the May W. Newburger Women’s Roll of Honor for her charitable endeavors and service to the community.
