December registration for English, TASC prep classes in Great Neck

If you are an adult and want to learn English or improve your English-language skills, or if you want to earn a high school equivalency diploma, the Great Neck Public Schools Adult Learning Center offers a variety of classes during the day and evening.

A range of English-language classes are offered, from beginning literacy to advanced English as a New Language. In preparation for the TASC, or Test Assessing Secondary Completion, formerly known as GED, examination, classes are available to improve math, reading, science, social studies, and writing skills. Once enrolled, students may also take elective classes such as Conversational English, Crossroads Café, and Citizenship, to name a few.

Registration for Trimester II classes must be done in person at the Adult Learning Center on Tuesday, Dec. 4, Wednesday, Dec. 5, or Thursday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.to noon, or from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Preference will be given to Great Neck residents and returning Adult Learning Center students. Please allow two hours to complete the registration process.

The non-refundable processing fee for classes is $75 for those who live or work in Great Neck (proof of residency or employment is required) and $125 for non-residents. Payment, at time of registration, can be made in cash, credit card, check, or money order payable to Great Neck Public Schools.
