The Madison Theatre at Molloy College will present an intimate night with legendary singer-songwriter John Waite and special guest Ellis Paul on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.

Waite was formerly the lead vocalist of The Babys and Bad English, two chart-topping pop rock bands.

His career includes international hits such as “Missing You,” “Change,” “Every Step of the Way” and many more.

After Bad English disbanded in 1992, Waite continued to write and perform music with a successful solo career.

Waite says that “songs and songwriting keep me inspired, moving forward.”

Joining Waite will be Paul, an American musical storyteller and winner of 14 Boston Music Awards.

Paul’s lyrics reach out from the inside and share feelings, thoughts, and sensibilities that many can relate to.

He is a brilliant and poetic artist who is considered to be the image of contemporary folk music.

Maurice Moore from Best Events says that Paul’s “charismatic, personally authentic performance style has influenced a generation of artists away from the artifice of pop, and closer towards the realness of folk.”

The Madison Theatre opened in November of 2011 and has a seating capacity of 550.

It has hosted many events, including some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

The Theatre is located on the Molloy campus at 1000 Hempstead Ave. in Rockville Centre.
