Fall Harvest and Otto the Ghost

Saturday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 29 (open daily, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.)
Take a hayride down a decorated trail, visit with the farm animals, watch an animated story featuring Otto the Ghost, and enjoy fresh picked apples, fudge, candy apples and other fall treats at this annual event.  Otto the Ghost is available for photos on weekends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.

Story Time: “Princesses  Wear Pants”

In their debut children’s picture book, Savannah Guthrie of the NBC “Today Show” and Allison Oppenheim team up for an imaginative story that celebrates fashion and girl power. Join the unflappable Princess Penelope Pineapple as she finds a clever way to get the job done while staying true to herself.

The Long Island Fair

Saturday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 17, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (also Sept. 23 and 24)
The Long Island Fair celebrates its 175th anniversary with two weekends full of events that will include a Dueling Pirates Dive Show, Flippenout Extreme Trampoline Show, Circus Dubois Variety Show, and The Butterfly Encounter, as well as camel rides, a petting zoo, pig racing, puppet and magic shows, children’s races and games, historic crafts, music and more.  Adults $12; children $8.

Piratefest! 

Sunday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Yar! Young pirates are invading the Museum and Cold Spring Harbor for the upcoming Talk Like a Pirate Day.  Lads and lasses can meet pirates from Ye Pyrate Brotherhood, go on a treasure hunt, and create lots of pirate-themed crafts. Costumes are encouraged. All ages welcome. Children $15; adults $5.

Kidsfest

Sunday, Sept. 17, 12-4 p.m.
Kidsfest will include a day of fun and educational activities featuring a high-energy performance by the Grammy-winning Tim Kubart & the Space Cadets that will keep the whole family dancing the entire afternoon. Concert begins at 2:30 p.m.
