At long last… Billy Joel returns to Nassau Coliseum for New Year’s Eve

Legendary musician Billy Joel will perform at NYCB Live, Home of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Dec. 31 at 9:30 p.m., marking the 25th anniversary of the last time he played the venue on New Year’s Eve.

“We are thrilled to welcome Billy back home for what will be another momentous night in his four-decade-long history playing the Coliseum,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of BSE Global, the operator of the historic venue. “This performance will be a celebration for Long Islanders, truly making New Year’s Eve at NYCB Live the ultimate destination to ring in 2019.”

Having sold 150 million records over the past quarter century, Joel ranks as one of most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history. The singer, songwriter and composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time, the third best-selling solo artist, and is one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world. 

In 2014, he received both The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, which honors living musical artists’ lifetime achievement in promoting the genre of song as a vehicle of cultural understanding, entertaining and informing audiences, and inspiring new generations.

Joel is also the recipient of the once-in-a-century ASCAP Centennial Award, which is presented to American music icons in recognition of their incomparable accomplishments in their respective music genres and beyond.
