Dolphin Bookshop will host a special event on Saturday, Dec, 9 from 2 to 4 p.m., where authors Jeffrey L. Diamond, Sandy Lanton, Antionette Truglio Martin, Amy. B. McCoy, and Pat Gallagher Sassine will celebrate and sign their newly published books.
Diamond’s latest thriller in his Ethan Benson series, “Live to Tape,” has his protagonist, a new producer for The Weekly Reporter, assigned to a salacious story about a rich heart surgeon who has confessed to the murder of a young runaway he picked up on the gritty streets of South Boston. But this two-year-old case may be more than just a random sex crime as Benson is determined to find out.
“Still A Family: A Young Child’s Book About Divorce” is Lanton’s story about a child that gets scared when her parents fight and angry when they decide to separate, but later learns that it’s okay — even fun — to have two homes. As the character realizes that they are “still a family,” young readers will also discover an important message that families can stay together trough thick and thin.
In “Hug Everyone You Know: A Year of Community, Courage, and Cancer,” Truglio Martin shares her terrifying and brave journey and the inspiring people she encountered along the way after receiving a stage 1 breast cancer diagnosis.
Winner of the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards for Children’s Fiction, “Little Big Sister” tells the tender story of a little sister who feels like a big sister to her brother, who has autism, and later comes to the aid of a classmate with a disability with a determination to make a difference at their school.
In “Hanging in the Stars,” Gallagher Sassone tells the story of Andrew, a skinny ninth grader who gets lessens on how to toughen up and get into strong shape from a street-smart biker named Cruz, but only if he tutors Cruz’s 13-year-old sister Maya. Drawn to Maya when they proceed to work on a Romeo and Juliet assignment together, the two eventually learn to rely upon each other in order to survive in a violent world.
