The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Three beloved children stories by Eric Carle – “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” “Little Cloud,” and “The Mixed-Up Chameleon” – are retold on stage through the magic of black light and fanciful puppets. Adapted, designed and directed by Jim Morrow, with music by Steven Naylor and narration by Gordon Pinsent, the hour-long production is an imaginative approach at storytelling through theatre that has earned international recognition. For all children ages 2 and up. Tickets: $25 for adults and $18 for children under 18. Discount for Friends of the Landmark.

Imagine what life was like without a GPS. How did anyone find their way around?! Explore the Tanglewood preserve with a compass and learn the science of orienteering. Admission is $9 per person. Open to ages one and up. Dress warm.

Celestial Weekend: Starlab Indoor Planetarium

Explore the universe in a fascinating digital display inside the inflatable Starlab Planetarium at Castle Gould. Discover the planets and moons that comprise our solar system, and watch for comets, asteroids, and meteor showers. Choose one 30-minute session during this Celestial Weekend. Payment with registration is required. Open to all ages. Admission $15 for non-members and $10 for members. $5 per child and free for children members.

Family Movie and Dance Fundraiser

This is my SWAG Foundation will be holding its second annual fundraiser at The Bellmore Playhouse with a screening of Disney Pixar’s “Inside Out,” Rated PG. Come out and help raise money to bring SWAG Day to schools across Long Island. Families with two or more children will receive $5 off for each child. Tickets $20 per person.

Ssssensational Ssssnakes

Participants will meet several snakes and learn about their unique adaptation through games and other participatory activities. Create a cool snake craft to take home. $10 per child and $5 per adult, $2 discount for scouts.
