Whalers Feast

Friday, Nov. 15, 10:30 a.m.

Kids ages three to six will learn about how whalers from Long island used to celebrate Thanksgiving while at sea. They’ll learn about what food the whalers had for the holiday. Additionally, the kids will be able to make their own thankful turkey and decorate a cup for them to use at their own Thanksgiving celebrations.

Charlotte’s Web at the Showplace at Bellmore Movies

Plaza Theatrical Productions will be putting on a play based on the popular E.B. White book, “Charlotte’s Web.” Kids should enjoy watching the costumed characters dancing on stage. There will also be a character meet-and-greet after the play. Tickets are $12 per person.

Turkey Talk

Children will learn why the turkey is a mainstay for Thanksgiving feasts in America. In a humorous spin on traditional Thanksgiving turkey, the kids will get to dress up their own turkey decoration for the holiday. Admission to the event is $4 for the public or $3 for museum members. The public also has to pay $14 for museum admission, while members get in for free.

The Long Island Children’s Museum will be having a reading of “Maisy’s Thanksgiving” Tuesday morning. After the reading of the story, children will get to make their own pretend Thanksgiving meal to take home. Tickets for the event are $4 for the public, plus $14 for museum admission. Museum members get free admission to the museum and would pay $3 for getting into the stART event.

Disney on Ice Road Trip Adventures

Mickey Mouse and his friends will be setting off on a high-octane adventure. Kids may get to see some of their favorite Disney characters. Those seated in the “Extra Magic Zone” may find themselves participating in the show riding the “Magic Mobile” vehicle. Extra Magic Zone guests will receive a commemorative lanyard. Tickets range from $15 to $96.
