Santa Claus will be coming to the town of Massapequa to meet as many good boys and girls as he can at the Westfield Sunrise Mall. He can be found at the Macy’s court, where children can get their picture taken with Santa. Fast passes for meeting and getting a picture taken with Santa can be purchased online for between $34.99 and $44.99. Reservations to meet him must be made online in advance.

Home Alone-Cinema for Kids

The Cinema Arts Centre will be hosting a screening of the classic Christmas movie, “Home Alone.” Kids may enjoy the 1990 hit as they watch Macaulay Culkin’s character, Kevin McCallister, essentially torture two burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, who break into his house and fall victim to his booby traps. Tickets are $7 for Cinema members, $12 for the public and free for kids under 12 years of age.

Family Fun: ARTful Adventures

Parents can take their children to the Hofstra University Museum of Art to look at and learn about the art on display. The parents and children can then work together in making a collage out of washed up objects used every day. With help from museum educators and inspiration from the art on display there, the parents and kids may be able to make a statement with their collages. The event is intended for children from ages five to ten. Admission is $10 per child per session when prepaid, or $12 when paid the day of the event. Adults get in for free.

Santa Brunch at the Long Island Aquarium

The Long Island Aquarium is getting into the holiday season with its annual “Santa Brunch.” Families can enjoy a buffet together in the Sea Star Ballroom. Kids can get their picture taken with Santa there before enjoying the sights of the aquarium. Admission for kids from ages 3-12 are $26.95, or $23.95 if they are aquarium members. Those 13 years or older get admitted for $54.95, or $49.95 if they’re members.

Pet Photos with Santa

The Broadway Mall in Hicksville will be holding a special kind of photo opportunity with Santa Claus. In addition to kids and their families getting their pictures taken with Santa, these families can also bring their pets to take part in the fun. The best entrance to the mall for those bringing their furry little friends would be Entry 7, located near the Children’s Place. Only domesticated pets are allowed to take part in this event.
