Goldfish Swim School will be holding a family swim event, where kids and their families can swim together in a warm 90-degree pool. Just because summer is long gone doesn’t mean families can’t enjoy spending time relaxing at a pool. Admission to the event is $5 per person or $15 for a family of three or more.

Madison Theatre Christmas Celebration

Molloy College’s Madison Theatre will be holding a special celebration in honor of the Christmas season. In this production, the performers will try to take the audience through some of their favorite pastimes of the holiday season. The audience may find themselves singing along to the classic holiday songs that will be performed. Balcony seats are on sale for $35, while orchestra seats are available for $50.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Featuring Dream Snow

The Tilles Center will be playing host to a special reading of four children’s books by author Eric Carle. Among the stories being read are “The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas” and “Dream Snow.” Additionally, more than 75 of Jonathon Rockefeller’s puppets will be on hand as part of the entertainment. Tickets for the event range in price from $29 to $53.

The Nutcracker Experience

Kids will have the opportunity to learn about the Christmas play “The Nutcracker” before trying to act it out themselves, with help from the instructor on hand. They’ll learn the music and choreography of classic scenes like the “Party Scene,” the journey through the “Kingdom of Sweets” and the “Snowflake Scene.” Afterward, the dancers can paint their own nutcracker and take it home. This one-hour workshop is $30 per child.

Riverhead Holiday Light Show

Monday, Dec. 23, 5 p.m.

Suffolk County’s largest drive-through light show returns for the holiday season. Dozens of displays will be up for the whole family to enjoy. After the light show, kids can get their picture taken with Santa Claus at the Hotel indigo. Admission to the show is $23 per vehicle. Pictures with Santa are $22 for two poses and two prints in a special frame.
