Rise of the Jack O’Lanterns

Kids can walk along the pathway set up and look at the 5,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns. Each creatively made jack o’lantern will be illuminated throughout the night, and there will be music playing that fits into the spooky holiday mood. Tickets are on sale at therise.org/owg.

Halloween Fest 2019

Kids that dress up in costume will get half-price admission to the Long Island Aquarium, where vendors will be giving out raffle prizes and candy to trick or treaters. There will also be author readings, demonstrations, arts and crafts, music and games there.

Kids can also register to compete in the coffin races, where teams of five will face each other. There is a $20 registration fee per person.

Additionally, kids can go trick or treating around Main Street from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Finally, the kids in attendance can participate in the Grand Halloween Costume Parade at 7:00.

Wailing Booseum and Festival

The Whaling Museum and Education Center will getting into the Halloween spirit for one of their biggest family events of the year. Barely-scary delights will fill the museum. Kids can visit Dr. Gellerman’s “Spooky Zoo” and touch live critters. There will be arts and crafts and a touch table for the kids, as well as haunted exhibits that will come to life. Entry is $15 per child and $5 per adult, though members get half off.

Long Island’s Trail of Terror at Tanner Park

Kids 12 years and older may find thrill and enjoyment from Tanner Park’s “Trail of Terror.” The mile-long path through twisted pines and gnarled oaks is full of scares not meant for the faint of heart. The outdoor event will be open even in rain or snow. Tickets are $20 per person.

Candy Corn Day

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m.

As part of celebrating National Candy Corn Day, the Westhampton Free Library invites children to perform activities related to the candy. Kids of ages three to five have the opportunity to create flower pictures out of candy corn. At 4:00 p.m., kids from kindergarten to third grade can make a variety of art pieces out of the candy.
