Frozen Family Science Night

The Cradle of Aviation Museum will be holding a “Frozen Science Night.” Kids can conduct experiments and learn new STEM skills in a winter setting. Additionally, they can get their pictures taken and participate in a sing-along with Elsa and Anna from the “Frozen” movies. Admission to the event is $10 per person or $15 to include a slice of pizza and a beverage. Museum members would only have to pay $10 for admission with pizza and a beverage.

Thomas and Friends: Explore the Rails

Kids can pull into stations across the Long Island Children’s Museum to participate in different train-themed activities and crafts at each station. Kids will get the opportunity to step inside Thomas and explore his inner machinations and to help Thomas and his friends solve a variety of challenges.

Little Red Riding Hood: Sensory-Friendly Performance

Theatre Three will be holding a special sensory-friendly performance of a play based on the popular Grimm fairy tale character, Little Red Riding Hood. In this iteration, Little Red Riding Hood will be joined on her journey to grandma’s house by her twin sisters, Blanche and Nora. House lights will remain on for this performance, sound levels will be lowered, attendees will be free to move around the auditorium and there will be clean blankets and stuffed animals available in the lobby for kids who may wish to take a break. Tickets are $10 per person.

Sunday Science: Lithographic Printing

Kids will learn about the antique way of creating images known as lithographic printing. Using oil and water, they’ll be able to make their own images. This program is meant for kids from ages 5-12. Admission is $14 per child.

Holiday Workshops at the Science Museum: Science and Technology

Kids can spend the day learning about science and technology at the Science Museum of Long Island. There will be STEM building challenges as kids make all sorts of contraptions. Additionally, kids will learn about circuits as they explore the world of electricity. Admission to the event is $75 per child or $65 for museum members. Kids should bring their own lunch with them to the event.
