Sophie B. Hawkins (“Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover”) has joined the star-studded guest list for this year’s Girls Rising Game Changer Awards. The event hosted by the band Antigone Rising will benefit its non-profit organization, Girls Rising. The event serves as the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The Girls Rising Game Changer Awards will take place on Friday, June 21 at My Father’s Place, located in the Roslyn Hotel, beginning at 7 p.m.

The awards are part of a two-day event celebrating Girls Rising and the work it does to empower and inspire girls. Headliners for the 6th Annual Girls Rising Music Festival on June 22 include Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Paula Cole and acclaimed folk singer Lucy Kaplansky who will perform along with Antigone Rising.

“The Game Changer Awards serve as a backstage pass to the festival, giving supporters a chance for a close and personal meet and greet with the artists as well as unique and intimate acoustic performances,” said Kristen Ellis-Henderson, Antigone Rising founding member.

Throughout the evening, Antigone Rising will present college scholarship awards and extra- curricular grants co-created by such luminaries as Melissa Etheridge, Joan Jett, Milt Okun and Carnie Wilson.
