Queens County Fair and the Maize Maze

Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
One of the farm’s most popular events of the year, this traditional county fair with blue ribbon competitions in livestock, produce and home crafts will also include pie-eating and corn-husking contests, pig races, hayrides, carnival rides, midway games and top-notch children’s entertainment. The weekend also unveils the Maize Maze, where kids and adults alike will have fun finding their way out of the three-acre corn labyrinth now through Oct. 29.

Productions Presents “Rapunzel”

Draw Out! Free Arts Festival

Sunday, Sept. 24, 12-4 p.m.
Kids and their families can sketch a live model, paint by Heckscher Pond, make a “Moving to the Rhythm” 3-D drawing, create “Letter Art” inspired by The Art of the Narrative, play larger-than-life chess and checkers with Your Move Chess & Games and enjoy live music on the terrace, face painting and a Huey bean bag toss.

Village Day Fall Festival

Sunday, Sept. 24, 12-4 p.m.
The fall harvest season will be celebrated with outdoor activities for children of all ages, including a petting zoo, hayrides around the Great Lawn to view the early fall foliage, pony rides overlooking the Long Island Sound, pumpkin painting for budding artists, and a Green Grocer market featuring award-winning artisanal cheeses and farm picked vegetables. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
