Kids can meet Sara Varon, author of “New Shoes,” a heartwarming graphic novel about a donkey on a quest to make the perfect pair of shoes, and John Patrick Green, author of “Hippopotamister,” about a Hippo who decides to venture outside the zoo with his friend Red Panda. The authors will read from and sign copies of their books at this special event.

Families can explore the universe in a fascinating digital display inside the inflatable Starlab Planetarium in Castle Gould, where they will discover the planets and moons that comprise our solar system, and watch for comets, asteroids, and meteor showers.

“The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical”

Now Percy has ten days to find and return Zeus’s stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus in this musical adapted from the bestselling book, “The Lightning Thief,” by Rick Riordan.
