Musical: “The King and I”

Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. (performances through Oct. 15)

This 1952 Tony Award winner for Best Musical is based on “Anna and the King of Siam,” a 1944 novel about a British schoolteacher brought to Siam to tutor the king’s children. The musical score by Rodgers and Hammerstein features the songs “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Getting to Know You” and the showstopper “Shall We Dance”

Shades of Bublé
Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. 

This three-man tribute to Grammy award-winning singer Michael Bublé combines big-band, jazz and popular standards, as well as the crooner’s signature hits, such as “Sway,” “Haven’t Met You Yet,” “Save the Last Dance for Me” and “Feeling Good.”

Stage Performance: “Silent Sky”

Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7: 30 p.m. (through Sunday, Oct. 8 at various times)

Featuring the students of the Department of Theatre, “Silent Sky” is the true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt that explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries, yet when women’s ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them.

Autumn Sculpture Stroll

Thursday, Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m.

Take a walk through the grounds at the museum where different sculptures are featured in each of these semi-annual strolls.  The event is limited to 50 people — meet on the front terrace of the museum. Admission is $5 for members, $10 for nonmembers. Register at nassaumuseum.org/events.
