“Jesus Christ Superstar”

A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for more than 40 years, “Jesus Christ Superstar” is a timeless musical set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events leading up to Jesus Christ’s crucifixion as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.  The production features the memorable songs, “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Superstar.”

“The House of Bernarda Alba”

Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 8 at 2 p.m. (ongoing performances through April 15)

The Department of Drama and Dance presents the greatest of modern Spanish tragedies, “The House of Bernarda Alba,” the story of a family comprised of a stern matriarch and her five daughters who are mourning the loss of their father that explores themes of repression, passion, and conformity, while illustrating the effects of men upon women.

Long Island Home Show and Empire State Market Fair

Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8 at 10 a.m. (home show) and Sunday, April 8, 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. (fair at the same time every Sunday through December 23)

The Long Island Spring Home Show brings together homeowners with local and national companies for two full days of ideas, resources, and expert advice on everything from windows and doors to roofing and general contracting.  The Empire State Market also kicks off this weekend, where shoppers can find a wide assortment of jewelry, apparel and fashion accessories, household items, artwork and crafts, and all sorts of fresh and prepared foods.

“Crimes of the Heart”

A Very Intimate Acoustic Evening with Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo

Wednesday, April 11 at 8 p.m.

Four-time Grammy winner and Long Island native Pat Benatar has been a rock-and-roll trailblazer for more than three decades, with Top 10 hits including “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” “Love Is a Battlefield,” “We Belong,” and “Invincible.” She will perform with her songwriting and recording partner since the late ‘70s, Neil Giraldo.
