Mandy Gonzalez of “Hamilton” to perform at Adelphi University

Mandy Gonzalez takes the night off from her role as Angelica Schuyler in the hit musical phenomenon “Hamilton” to kick off the second half of the Adelphi University Performing Art Center’s 10th Anniversary season. Gonzalez will perform on Friday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m. on the Westermann Stage, Concert Hall in the Adelphi PAC, 1 South Avenue in Garden City.

The singer originated the role of Nina Rosario in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning musical “In The Heights,” a role she created Off Broadway at 37 Arts and for which she received a Drama Desk Award. Gonzalez has appeared as Princess Amneris in the Elton John and Tim Rice musical “Aida” and in the Broadway show “Lennon.”

She was recently seen starring as Elphaba in the Broadway production of “Wicked,” for which she was awarded a Broadway.com Award for Best Replacement.

Gonzalez can be seen on the CBS show “Madam Secretary.” She is also a Warner Music artist and recently released her debut album “FEARLESS,” which debuted at number 13 on the iTunes pop charts. Gonzalez founded the social media movement “#FearlessSquad,” which works to create a sense of belonging, inclusivity and positivity on social media sites.

Gonzalez will perform songs from throughout her musical theatre career, as well as songs from her album “FEARLESS.” She will be joined onstage by students from Adelphi University and Garden City High School.
