Massapequa Philharmonic presents holiday concert

The Island Now

The Massapequa Philharmonic, under music director David Bernard, will perform its annual holiday concert featuring festive music and dance.

They will be joined by Long Island’s Eglevsky Ballet, performing alongside the orchestra in selections from “The Nutcracker” as a preview of its annual production at the Tilles Center.

The Massapequa Philharmonic’s holiday performance is a popular tradition that includes a festive sing-along and refreshments. The concert will take place on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at Berner Auditorium, 50 Carman Mill Road in Massapequa. The concert is free to the public.

“This will be a thrilling musical celebration of the season,” Bernard said. “Not only are we performing works that dazzle the senses and create magic through music, but Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” contains some of the most incredibly captivating music ever written. As we end the concert with the audience singing along with the orchestra, the holiday spirit and sense of community in the room with be overwhelming!”
