On Friday, Aug. 16, Noble Savage Brewing Company opened its doors with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at its Glen Cove location. The event featured live music, food, and a wide variety of its original beers, such as Ron Don IPA, That’s That blonde ale and Very Well NEIPA. The brewery was built by owner and head brewer, Frank Bilello, who received help along the way.

National Grid provided Noble Savage Brewing Company with funds through its Cinderella Program, which provides grants to non-profit development corporations to offset the costs of affordable mixed-use housing and commercial redevelopment. Meanwhile the City of Glen Cove assisted Bilello in receiving money through the Community Development Agency’s Commercial Rehabilitation Facade Program.

“We’re happy to contribute to what we hope is a long-lasting, successful business for Frank and the Noble Savage Brewing Company,” said Keith Rooney, National Grid Director of Customer and Community Management. “Our Cinderella program grant of $50,000 helped bring life to a vacant commercial space and add another vibrant business to the City of Glen Cove and Nassau County.”

PSEG Long Island also awarded Noble Savage Brewing Company funds through its Main Street Revitalization Program, which encourages economic vitality of a business district and optimizes the use of existing electric infrastructure. This program offers financial incentive awards for projects in a local business district that is expected to improve the economic stability and growth of a municipality.

“PSEG Long Island is proud to provide Noble Savage Brewing Company with a $25,000 ‘Main Street Revitalization’ grant for improving the economic stability and growth of Glen Cove’s business district,” said John Keating, manager of economic development for PSEG Long Island. “We created this grant program to support Long Island’s small businesses because our economy thrives on them. In addition to the grant, we also gave Noble Savage rebates totaling nearly $600 for installing energy efficient lighting fixtures and bulbs.”

Bilello said that he is gracious for the support he has received from the City of Glen Cove, National Grid and PSEG Long Island. Noble Savage is now poised to become a staple of the Glen Cove community.

“Noble Savage Brewing Company is thrilled to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Glen Cove,” said Bilello. “We hope our presence brings the community together and enhances the local culture. We would like to thank National Grid, PSEG, the City of Glen Cove and everyone else who helped make Noble Savage a reality. Stay tuned for future events and collaborations with other local businesses. Cheers!”

In attendance at the Grand Opening were Glen Cove Mayor Timothy Tenke, Nassau County Legislator Delia Deriggi-Whitton, the Glen Cove City Council, Nassau County Office of Community Development Deputy Director Kevin Crean and representatives from PSEG Long Island and National Grid.

Noble Savage Brewing Company is located at 27 Glen Street and is open Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
