North Shore Symphony Orchestra presents family concert with movie favorites

North Shore Symphony Orchestra will perform at 2 p.m. April 15 at Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School in Plainview.

Guest conductor Anthony LaGruth will lead the North Shore Symphony Orchestra in an afternoon family concert of old and new favorites: Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story,” and music from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Lord of the Rings,” “Frozen,” “Despicable Me,” and “Star Wars.”

Children are invited to come dressed in their favorite costumes from the featured films!

This concert will bring together the talents of the 75-member North Shore Symphony Orchestra, Long Island’s most established community orchestra.

General admission tickets are $15 and senior or student tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door 30 minutes prior to the concert.

North Shore Symphony Orchestra continues its 57th season with concerts on April 21, when the orchestra will present Verdi’s Requiem in collaboration with North Shore Community Chorus and conductor Stephen Goldstein, and June 2 with our newly designated music director, to be determined.
