Reach Out America will be hosting a Q&A event with journalist Olivia Winslow, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at 48 Shelter Rock Rd. in Manhasset.

Winslow has been a reporter at Newsday for 26 years and currently covers demographic trends on Long Island, analyzing census data for insight into how Long Island’s population is changing. During her tenure at Newsday, she has covered crime, the courts, and town government.

Winslow is a graduate of Howard University (BA, journalism) and Temple University (MA, journalism); who began her professional career at the Danbury News-Times and then worked at the Richmond Times-Dispatch where she covered social services, mental health issues, and Virginia’s state legislature. She was part of the team that produced Newsday’s very recent groundbreaking three-year investigation into the unequal treatment of minority homebuyers, a project that has produced an avalanche of soul searching and the beginning of serious legislative action.
