Indie folk band The Head and the Heart will return to Forest Hills Stadium on Sunday, June 23 at 5 p.m., with their fourth full-length album, “Living Mirage,” featuring the new single, “Missed Connection.”

Formed in the summer of 2009, the group is comprised of Josiah Johnson (vocals, guitar, percussion), Jonathan Russell (vocals, guitar, percussion), Charity Rose Thielen (violin, guitar, vocals), Chris Zasche (bass), Kenny Hensley (piano), and Tyler Williams (drums).

Initially self-released in 2011, The Head and the Heart’s self-titled breakout debut produced instant classics, including “Rivers and Roads,” “Down in the Valley” and “Lost in My Mind,” and is now certified Gold.

Their last two albums, 2013’s “Let’s Be Still” and 2016’s “Signs of Light,” settled into Billboard’s top 10 albums chart, with “Signs of Light” securing the No. 1 position on rock album charts. It also produced the single “All We Ever Knew,” which reached No. 1 at Alternative, after holding the No. 1 spot at AAA for nine straight weeks earlier that same year.

The Head and the Heart have appeared in Cameron Crowe’s television series “Roadies,” and their music has been featured in commercials and the film “Silver Linings Playbook.” They have played consecutive, sold-out shows at Red Rocks and primetime main stage slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, with two more sold-out Red Rocks shows in July.

The band has performed 13 times on national television, including appearances on “Ellen,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Austin City Limits” and more.

The Head and the Heart will be joined in concert by California rock band Young the Giant and indie pop group Fitz and the Tantrums, with a special acoustic performance by Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional and Smith & Thell.
