Mill Neck Family’s Christmas Magic Event

Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This festive, family-friendly event will take place inside the historic Mill Neck Manor and feature photos with Santa, baked goods and hot cocoa from Mrs. Claus, holiday gift items, children’s arts and crafts, tours of the historic mansion and more. Parking $10 per car; free admission to the Manor House.  Bring non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys to support families in need. All proceeds benefit deaf children and adults.

Christmas at Westbury House

Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (every weekend through Dec. 23)

With decorated period rooms, Santa, cookies and cider, the Old Westbury Gardens holiday celebration is a must for the entire family.  Cost: $12 for adults; $10 for those over age 62 and full-time students with ID; $7 for children ages 7 to 17; free for members and children 6 and under.

Cinema for Kids: “Elliot the Littlest Reindeer”

Saturday, Dec. 1, 11 a.m.

Elliot, a small but determined horse, travels to the North Pole to compete for a spot alongside the famous reindeer that pull Santa’s sleigh. Against all odds, Elliot and his friend Hazel the goat set out to prove that no dream is too big. Members $7; general public $12; free for kids under 12.

Holiday Tales at the Hearth

Sunday, Dec. 2, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

At this holiday celebration, festive music will play, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit, and special guest readers will share favorite stories by the library’s roaring fireplace. The mansion’s former billiards room will be transformed into a reading room filled with magical stories from many cultures and holiday traditions from around the world.  Members: $10 per car; non-members: $20 per car.  Payments are received at the Gate House.

Children’s Theatre: “A Charlie Brown Christmas”

Sunday, Dec. 2, 3 p.m. (also Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.)

Enjoy a live production of the classic story in which Charlie Brown’s failed attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit leads him to enlist his friend Linus to show others the real meaning of Christmas. Holiday craft making will take place before the show from 1 to 2 p.m. Kids can stay after the show to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
