2  Hofstra University Presents: “Into the Woods”

Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. (ongoing performances through Nov. 4)

“Into the Woods” weaves the classic stories of “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Cinderella,” and “Rapunzel” around the tale of a baker and his wife who learn that they are childless because of a witch’s curse.

”Nine: The Musical”

This Tony award-winning musical is based on Federico Fellini’s semi-autobiographical film, “8½,” about a famous Italian film director who has turned 40 and faces double crises: he has to shoot a film for which he can’t write the script, and his wife of 20 years may be about to leave him.

6 “The Rimers of Eldritch” by Lanford Wilson

This play by Lanford Wilson is set in the mid-20th century in Eldritch, Missouri, a decaying Bible Belt town that once was a prosperous coal mining community, and focuses on the murder of a local hermit.
