Girls Night Out with Authors Jane Green and Brenda Janowitz

New York Times best-selling author Jane Green will discuss her latest novel, “The Sunshine Sisters,” a poignant story about three estranged daughters who are called home to help their ailing mother, with Brenda Janowitz, author of “The Dinner Party,” at this special, ticketed event ($30 per person) that includes a glass of wine or beer, appetizers, and a copy of “The Sunshine Sisters,” a great gift for Mother’s Day and perfect summer read.

Spring Boutique at Old Westbury Gardens

4 Kentucky Derby Celebration at Pratt’s

Saturday, May 5, 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Celebrate the Run for the Roses at Pratt’s at The Mansion, where there will by Mansion Mint Juleps, special Derby sandwiches, and live bluegrass music to get you into the Derby spirit. 6 Huntington Tulip Festival

Sunday, May 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An annual event, the Tulip Festival is a free, floral festival featuring more than 20,000 tulips, music performances on the Chapin Rainbow Stage, art exhibitions, lectures and demonstrations, and refreshment sales all taking place at Heckscher Park, considered by many to be the Central Park of Huntington village.

Musical Cabaret: The Other Side of Paradise

Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m.

Named after F. Scott Fitzgerald’s debut 1920 novel, this wild musical telling of the relationship between Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald, written and performed by Angela Sclafani, is part concert, part theater, and part 1920s’ underground apartment party. The night spans 40 years of history in one blazing and highly original set. $30 members; $40 non-members.
