Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso wished a very happy 90th birthday to Doris Katz, the mother of Patty Katz, commissioner of the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District (GNWPCD).

Patty did not tell her mother why they were paying a visit to the Assemblyman‘s office and Doris was surprised when he presented her with a proclamation.

Doris Katz was born in Kansas City, Missouri and met her future husband Jerry when they were studying at Ohio State University. They decided to live and raise their family in Great Neck, where she continues to live.

Doris Katz has been active with the PTA at her daughters’ schools, the Great Neck Chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women and with Reach Out America.
